A first class hospital, with better equipment and more appointments

We need to improve our hospital facilities, make them fit for the 21st century.

That’s why I’ll work with NHS providers and the government to get new hospital plans up and running, which means better access to emergency health care and access to appointments when we need them most.

And I’ll make sure our current facility on Lovely Lane, rated outstanding for critical care this year, gets the equipment and support it needs.

I'm also supporting our long-term plan for £34 billion per year by the end of the Parliament in additional funding for the NHS – and the building 40 new hospitals across the country, as well as investing in hospital upgrades and new machines to boost early cancer diagnosis across hospital trusts.

Additional funding for local NHS services will deliver more nurses, better cancer care and an additional £2 billion investment in mental health support. This injection of funding delivered by the Conservatives in Government means the NHS will receive an extra £640 million a week.

I will also continue to campaign for another hospital in the Town. It would bring significant economic benefits, and I would like to see a partnership between the Trust and Chester University. We lose a lot of students to Liverpool and Manchester, so it would be good if Warrington could retain them as well as attract students from outside.

Out and about in Grappenhall

Lovely morning out in Warrington supporting our 2020 Warrington Borough Council candidates in Grappenhall. A few interesting Brexit conversations today and quite a lot of frustration! Also talking about greenbelt and our plans for the NHS.
